Regular season game action for the 2007/2008 Sault Female Hockey Association season began this past weekend with games in the Bantam and Intermediate Divisions.

In Bantam play, Riuniti Banquet Banquet Halls rode the shut-out goaltending of Heather Douglas to defeat Station Mall 3 - 0. Morgan Salewski tallied for Riuniti in the first period with an assist going to Kyra DiMicoli.

Shelby Sayers-Jones took over the scoring from there for Riuniti, scoring an unassisted marker in the second period, followed by a goal midway through the third period, with an assist from Serina Nicholson.

Tiana Chandler was the story in the Intermediate Division, scoring two goals and adding three assists, as Best Western defeated Seamless Eavestrough 6 - 2. Erica Aceti had the only goal of the first period as Seamless lead 1 - 0 after one period, however from the second period on, it was all Best Western.

Best Western would score the next five goals, with Chandler getting two, and singles going to Jessica Masters, Alaina DeBruyne and Devon Rafter. Amanda Giunti would score midway through the third for Seamless to cut the lead to 5 - 2, but Hillary Sayers replied quickly for Best Western to them the 6 -2 lead and victory. Besides Chandler, other offensive leaders for Best Western were Alaina DeBruyne with a goal and assist, Devon Rafter with a goal and assist and Breanna Buchan with two assists.
