COUGARS BEGIN REGULAR SEASON ACTION

Both Sault College Varsity teams will begin their regular seasons this Friday night as the St Clair Saints (Windsor) travel to the Sault for a pair of games.

The men’s basketball team will tip off at 6pm while the Lady Cougars serve up at 8pm.

The men’s basketball team has several key returnees including last year’s OCAA top scorer Jean Louis Ouattara who is back for his 2nd year of the Business Program.

The Cougars also feature former University Of Victoria player Ryan Vetrie, son of the late coaching legend Guy Vetrie, who will be the team’s starting point guard.

The club will also look to 4th year players Jeff Rennison (Korah) and Nate Whalen (Nova Scotia) to begin their contention of the West Region title from a year ago.

On the ladies side, the volleyball team will have a new look only returning 3 vets from a year ago.

Back for the Cougars are setter Nicole Beauchamp (Korah) and utility player Kari-Lyn Chamberlain ( North Bay) who are both in their 3rd years. Ashley Whitmell ( White Pines ) for the second year will middle the team and provide some big time offence.
