The Sault College Cougars split a pair of Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) games on home court Friday night against the Fanshawe Falcons.

To open the night, the Cougars scored an 88-74 win in men's basketball action before dropping a 3-2 decision to the Falcons in women's volleyball.

In the basketball contest, Jean Louis Ouattara scored a game high 40 points to lead the Cougars. Ryan Vetrie added 15 points while Ryan Turgeon and Nate Whalen added nine each. Pat Wright led the Falcons with 16 points.

In volleyball, the Falcons rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win the final two sets and score a 25-11, 16-25, 21-25, 25-15, 15-10 victory.

Ashley Whitmell led the Cougars offensively with eight kills and six service aces while Katie Seys replied with 12 kills, two blocks and three aces for the Falcons.

Both Sault College teams will hit the road next weekend for games in Sarnia against the Lambton Lions on Friday and Windsor against the St. Clair Saints on Saturday.
