*** COUGAR PROFILE OF THE WEEK:

Andrew Turgeon

A first year Business/Accounting student, Andrew Turgeon is Sault College's Cougar pick of the week.

As a transfer from Cansoun College in British Columbia, Andrew is no stranger to CCAA basketball. He, and starting point guard Ryan Vetrie, makeup a balanced attack of highly skilled athletes from the city of Victoria.

Standing 6'0" tall, Andrew brings speed and plays aggressively bringing the ball to the net. If his speed doesn't rattle opponents, his ability to shoot from the three point line will.

"Andrew works very hard whether in games or practice. He has a very positive attitude and really supports his team mates," adds Thomas Cory, Cougar head coach. "He brings a lot to this team in terms of skill but it his character that stands out and his desire to compete."

You can catch Andrew Turgeon and the men's basketball team during their next home game when the Cougars host Niagara Knights December 10 at 3pm in their final game of the first semester.

*** COUGARS PREPARE FOR DIFFICULT ROAD TRIP:

The Sault College varsity teams will travel to Ancaster and Welland this weekend to take on Redeemer and Niagara College for a pair of OCAA West region league games.

Redeemer will host the Cougars Friday before the Sault heads over to take on the Knights of Niagara on Saturday afternoon as part of the most difficult road trip of the season.

The Cougar men's basketball team, currently 3-1, can establish their worth in the West with a pair of victories but their work will be cut out for them against an always pesky Royals team on Friday and division rival Knights on Saturday.

The Women's Volleyball team, currently record 1-3, is hoping to even their record up with two wins on their trip to the Hamilton region.
