Sault College athlete profile

*** COUGAR PROFILE OF THE WEEK:

Dionte Dunning

A varsity athlete with the men's basketball team, Dionte Dunning is Sault College Cougar's athlete of the week.

Dionte, at only 5'10, is one of the smaller athletes on the team but makes up for his size in a big way. His speed and athleticism give the Cougars good depth and his ability to push the ball up floor often create problems for opposing teams.

His contribution of talent assisted the men's basketball team to a first place finish in the west division, and an automatic berth into the Provincial Championships.

Dionte is originally from Key West, Florida, where he attended Key West Conch Highschool. It is there he practiced his basketball skills that have flourished within the varsity program at Sault College.

After sitting out a season Dionte decided to give Canadian basketball a try on some advice from a former coach.

Coach Cory uses Dionte to change the tempo of the games. "He brings absolute energy to the team, being very athletic, and he makes everyone around him better. Dionte always looks to pass first, and he is a very unselfish player".
