Sal Dan Strikers Eliminated at Panhellenic

***NEWS RELEASE*** It took overtime to determine a finalist in the U-13 boy’s division during the Sudbury Panhellenic Soccer Tournament. Regular time ended in a 0-0 tie.

It took overtime to determine a finalist in the U-13 boy’s division during the Sudbury Panhellenic Soccer Tournament. Regular time ended in a 0-0 tie. A goal with four minutes left in the second half of overtime sent the boys home early on Sunday. The Strikers had many chances during this 8am game, along with a last minute free kick just outside the box which was denied by the Owen Sound Celtic goalie. Owen Sound was the eventual winners of theU-13 division.

In round robin play on Saturday the Strikers lost their first game to Owen Sound Celtic 2-1, with the lone goal being scored by Marco Florio. In game 2 Sal Dan squeaked by Sudbury Athletic 1-0 on a goal by Nick Tassone.

Sunday morning’s third game, the team defeated BPR-Bechtel Thunder 3-0. Scorers were Brett Davie, Owen Hillstrom and Marco Florio.
