Employees and volunteers from OLG’s Foster Drive and SSM Casino locations raised over $2,100 in a charity hockey game/family skate fundraiser on Monday night.

Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Sault Area Hospital. The fast paced game between the OLG sites ended in a 2-2. Several hundred fans were on hand at the Steelback Centre to watch this entertaining hockey game.

“We are very pleased with the amount of money that was raised tonight. The players and volunteers deserve all the credit for their generous donations of their time and money!” said co-organizers Michael Magli and Albert Williams.

In the first period, Albert Williams scored the first goal of the game (assisted by Roger Bixby and Ben Lajoie) to put the Casino ahead 1-0. David Bradley quickly answered to tie the game up at the end of the first period (assisted by Carlo Iacoe and Robert Streich).

In the 3rd period, the Wild Aces came back with yet another goal by Williams with Brian Ducharme and Jeff Mangone drawing the assists.

But with less than 2 minutes left Ryan Wicklander converted a pass from Michael Magli to tie the game up at 2-2. Matt Lajoie picked up the other assist on that goal.
