The Sault Sabercats varsity team has settled in nicely after struggling out of the gate in the Ontario Football Conference regular season.
The team improved to 3-2 on Saturday afternoon thanks to a 24-0 victory over the Oakville Titans in Oakville.
The team has now won three straight, surrendering 16 points total in the three victories.
Sabercats Coach Matt Premo credited the Sabercats defence in the victory as the team forced five Oakville turnovers in the contest.
“We didn’t give them much at all,” Premo said.
The run of victories has done wonders for the Sabercats.
“The confidence level is high,” Premo said. “Guys are getting comfortable with their roles with the team. We’re starting to build now. We tried to reign things in and make a few adjustments with the injuries we had in the first three weeks. We really narrowed down the playbook and made sure guys were comfortable with their responsibilities and assignments. The guys are getting really comfortable.”
