The Sault Sabercats weren't about to let this game slip away.

In overtime, the Sabercats offense attacked the Sarnia Lions for a quick touchdown while the defense smothered the opposition to give the locals their first taste of victory since opening week.

Jonathan Widgett's four yard touchdown run in overtime proved to be the difference in a 22-15 Sabercats win on Saturday afternoon in Ontario Varsity Football League action at Rocky DiPietro Field.

Under OVFL rules, teams trade possessions from the opponents' 35 yard line until a winner is declared.

With a record of two wins, four losses and an overtime loss for five points, the Sabercats will now have a two week bye before closing the season on Saturday, July 21 at 11 a.m. against the Cambridge Lions.

Further details will be added.
