The Sault Sabercats saw their franchise best season come to a disappointing end on Saturday afternoon.

Being dominated by the Guelph Bears in all areas, the Sabercats fell 43-15 at Rocky DiPietro Field in the Ontario Varsity Football League conference semi-final.

After receiving a first round bye for their division championship, the Sabercats finish the season with a 7-2 record with their only two losses coming at the hands of Guelph.

The Bears now advance to the conference championship next Saturday in Niagara against the Spears, who edged the Essex Ravens 42-37 in the other conference semi-final.

The OVFL championship game will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20 in London.
