The Sault Sabercats clinched a home playoff date thanks to a 24-15 Ontario Varsity Football League win over the Cambridge Lions on Saturday.

Quarterback Peter Greve got the start for the Sabercats as Casey Wright missed the game with a separated shoulder suffered on July 7 against Mississauga. Greve ran for 113 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries while also throwing for 117 yards and a touchdown in the win. Greve completed eight of 16 passes.

Colin Booth caught three passes for 58 yards and a touchdown while Brock Hoover caught three passes for 45 yards. Eric Koshowski ran for 67 yards on 12 carries for the locals.

Defensively, Luke Simard intercepted a pair of passes while Jordan Hoover also had an interception in the win.

The Sabercats wrap up the OVFL season on July 21 when they host the Essex Ravens at Rocky DiPietro Field.
