The Sault Sabercats took advantage of a depleted Brantford lineup to get themselves back into the win column.

One week after suffering their first loss of the season in Guelph, the Sabercats controlled the Bisons on both sides of the ball to cruise to a 28-0 win on Saturday at Rocky DiPietro Field in Ontario Varsity Football League action.

The victory improves the Sabercats record to 4-1 and retains a share of top spot in the Adam Division - West with the Essex Ravens.

Kofi Osei opened the scoring with a four yard touchdown run before quarterback John Mullin scampered in from six yards out for a 14-0 first quarter lead. Tommy Reville hauled in a nine yard pass from Mullin in the second quarter before Jon Day completed the scoring with a 15 yard reception from Mullin in the final frame. Dan Swystun kicked four converts.

The Sabercats return to action for a Canada Day matchup on Friday in Sudbury against the Northerners beginning at 7 p.m. at Queens Athletic Field.

Next home action for the locals is Sunday, July 17 against the Cambridge Lions beginning at noon at Rocky DiPietro Field.
