The Soo Cambrian Mazda Black Sox enjoyed a repeat performance of their appearance in the 2004 Ontario Baseball Association Midget championships and came away with the 2005 title.

The Sox earned the title by defeating the Kingston Braves 2-0 on Sunday after the Braves defeated London Tecumseh on Saturday night to advance to the championship. Kingston would have had to defeat the undefeated Sox twice in the double-elimination tournament to take the title.

The Sox received another solid pitching performance, this time from Bryce Grimard who pitched the complete game and scattered four hits and seven strikeouts while walking just two hitters.

Joey Lesage continued his solid play at the plate hitting a pair of singles in the victory. Catcher Kyle Lafreniere also chipped in with a pair of singles and also knocked in a run while Jeff Buchan drove in the other Black Sox run.

To get to the championship, the Sox opened the tournament with a 6-1 win over London on Friday. On Saturday the Sox defeated Newmarket in the early game by a 5-3 score and then advanced to the championship by defeating Kingston 1-0 in eight innings later in the day.
