The Great North Midget League champion Soo North Stars cap the regular season with a pair of games next weekend at the John Rhodes Community Centre. For the fourth consecutive season, the North Stars captured the regular season title.

For the fourth consecutive season, the North Stars captured the regular season title. On Wednesday, the locals sealed the deal with a 5-3 win over the Sudbury Nickel Captial Wolves in Sudbury.

Next weekend February 10 and 11, Sudbury visits for games on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

In the win over the Wolves, Mike Rivard led the attack with two goals. Brett Thompson added a goal and two assists while singles went to Matt Amadio and Kevin Closs, who also added an assist. Drew MacMillan recorded two helpers and Thomas Gravelines picked up the win in goal.

The GNML playoffs begin February 17.
