Ray Emery signed a one-year deal with the Ottawa Senators on Thursday which essentially ends Dominik Hasek's run with the team.

Emery, a former Canadian Hockey League goaltender of the year with the Soo Greyhounds, signed for a reported $925,000, which also avoids salary arbitration.

After Hasek's season ended with an injury at the Olympics, Emery took over in goal and led the Senators to the second round of the playoffs.

In 39 games, Emery was 23-11 with a 2.82 goals against average and a .902 save percentage. In 10 playoff games, Emery posted a 5-5 record, .900 save percentage and a 2.88 GAA.

Earlier this off-season, the Senators acquired netminder Martin Gerber from the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes and signed him to a three-year, $3.7 million deal.
