Provenzano Cup resumes Sunday

Play-by-play on SportsZeus.com The hotly-contested Provenzano Cup series between the Soo Thunderbirds and Blind River Beavers resumes Sunday night at John Rhodes Community Centre. Broadcast time is 7 p.m. on SportsZeus.com. Sunday's game will be the third of the Provenzano Cup series between the two Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League teams. The first two games -- also played at the Soo's Rhodes Centre -- both went to shootout with each team snagging a victory. Key players for the Thunderbirds this season have been goalies Ryan Dube and Travis O'Brien, rookie forwards Matt Amadio and Jerry Petingalo and rookie defenceman Ian Cosgrove. On the flip side, the Beavers have been sparked by American goalies Jake Rosenthal and Mike Wuthrich, American defencemen Matt Bell and Brett LaValley and first-year NOJHL forward Tyler DeDecker and fibrous centre Adam Combs.
