Jean Paul Price attended his second World PowerSports Association (WPSA) Michigan Regional snocross event of the season in Sault, Michigan.

The WPSA is a governing body that organizes, promotes, and regulates a variety of snowmobile competitions.

There was a high of -20 degrees celcius and lots of snow for the event held in conjunction with the International 500.

Price was in fine form once again. Through his six qualifying heats on Saturday he had three firsts and three seconds. After the third round of qualifying on Sunday morning Price was #1 qualifier in the Semi-Pro Open and #2 in the Semi-Pro Stock 600 and third place qualifier in Semi-Pro Stock 440.

The first final was the Semi-Pro Stock 600. Price came from behind to win first place. In the next final, it was the Semi-Pro Open, which Price got the hole shot and again won first place this time by half a lap.

The last final of the day was the Semi-Pro Stock 440, Price had the lead going into the third corner going off a jump when the second place competitor overshot the jump and landed on Price which caused a four sled pile up. Fortunately he only received some severe bruises and a cut on his right hand from a carbide. His helmet and the snowmachine did not fair quite as well, with major damages therefore we have alot of work to do this week.

After visting the hospital he appears to be fine and will hopefully be ready to race this weekend.

Price opened the season in Gaylord in January. It was the first of seven racing weekends that makes up the regional circuit. Price raced extremely hard and qualified first in Semi-Pro Stock 440, second in Semi-Pro Stock 600 and third in Semi-Pro Open. In the finals with the top 12 qualifiers, there seemed to a lot of multiple sled crashes.

In the Semi-Pro Open final, Price ended up ninth after being involved in a pile up in the first corner. In the Semi-Pro stock 600 final, he ended up sixth after yet once again being involved in another pile up in the same corner.

In the Semi-Pro Stock 440 final, Price took second place as he was able to get through the first corner avoiding a pile up and was on the leaders bumper crossing the finish line.
