It may have taken some extra time but the Pino's Titans captured the Bantam AA championship over the Blueliners Blackhawks in an all-Sault final at the 24th Annual Steel City International Hockey Tournament.

It may have taken some extra time but the Pino's Titans captured the Bantam AA championship over the Blueliners Blackhawks in an all-Sault final at the 24th Annual Steel City International Hockey Tournament.

In the Sunday afternoon championship at the Rankin Arena, Michael Alexander scored the game winner 4:42 into overtime as the Titans edged the Blackhawks 3-2.

Shane Alberta gave the Titans a 1-0 first period lead before affiliate player Bo Boissoneau scored the lone goal of the second period to tie the game for the Blackhawks.

Dana Bergamin gave the Titans a 2-1 edge eight seconds into the third period but David Giuletti scored for the Blackhawks to tie the score at 4:23.

Evan Larkin recorded the win in goal while Matti Huapalainen recorded two assists for the Titans.

Pino's advanced to the title game with a 6-3 semi-final win over the Sault's S&T Lightning while Blueliners defeated the South End Rangers 3-2 in the other semi-final.

*** MIDGET AA:

Brandon Singh scored two goals to pace the Toronto East Enders past the Sault's Littner's Park 5-0 in the Midget AA championship game at the Rankin.

Justin Rowland, Clayton Cherry and Branden Collins also scored for the winners, who lead by period scores of 2-0 and 3-0, while Ian Grundy recorded the shutout.

Littner's Park advanced to the final with a dramatic 4-3 overtime win in the semi-final over Current River as Anthony Silvano scored the winner.

*** MIDGET AAA MINOR:

The Midland North Stars scored early and often to defeat the Markham Waxers 5-1 in the Midget AAA Minor championship game at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

Midland led 4-0 in the first period and 5-1 after the second.

Jarrod Labelle and Adam Sponseller scored twice each for the winners while Travis Williams added another. Brad Fleishman replied with a goal for Markham.
