OHL Announces Disciplinary Action

The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of a review of an incident which occurred at the conclusion of the game of Sunday January 20th, 2008 involving the visiting Sarnia Sting Hockey Club at Oshawa Generals Hockey Club.

As a result of the completion of such review, the following disciplinary action has been taken by the league:

Matt Martin, Sarnia Sting - assessed a two (2) game suspension Ryan Wilson, Sarnia Sting - assessed a two (2) game suspension Assistant Coach Greg Walters, Sarnia Sting - assessed a four (4) game suspension

Tyler Taylor, Oshawa Generals - assessed a two (2) game suspension James DeLory, Oshawa Generals - - assessed an eight (8) game suspension Assistant Coach Sean Murphy, Oshawa Generals - assessed a two (2) game suspension Head Coach Brad Selwood, Oshawa Generals - assessed a three (3) game suspension

In addition, the Oshawa Generals Hockey Club is fined $2,000.00.

Spitfires’ Bailey added to OHL All-Star Classic in Sault Ste. Marie

Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League announced today that Windsor Spitfires’ forward Joshua Bailey has been added to the Western Conference roster for the 2008 OHL All-Star Classic at the Steelback Centre in Sault Ste. Marie on February 5 and 6, 2008.

Bailey replaces Matt Halischuk of the Kitchener Rangers who is unable to play in the game due to injury.

Bailey, an 18-year-old native of Bowmanville, is enjoying a sensational third season in the OHL with 20 goals and 42 assists for 62 points in 46 games. He was rated 12th among North American prospects in the NHL Central Scouting mid-term rankings for the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Bailey, who also played in the OHL All-Star Game last year in Saginaw, participated in the Home Hardware CHL Top Prospects Game in Edmonton on Wednesday and was the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week last week.

The 2008 OHL All-Star Classic will feature 40 of the league's brightest stars in an Eastern Conference versus Western Conference showdown format. It is a two-day event that includes the OHL All-Star Skills Competition and Three-on-Three Game on Tuesday February 5, along with the All-Star Luncheon and OHL All-Star Classic on Wednesday February 6.

The 2008 OHL All-Star Classic is supported by OHL partners Boston Pizza, All Weather Windows, Subway, NAPA and Reebok and will be broadcast live on Rogers Sportsnet.
