************************* Stanley Cup odds from PinnacleSports.com Sabres, Senators, Ducks & Red Wings Favored to hoist Lord Stanley's cup WILLEMSTAD, Curacao, October 3 - The first face-off of the season takes place tomorrow night when the curtain is raised on the 2006-07 NHL campaign.

All 30 pro hockey teams enter the season on equal footing with grand aspirations of hoisting Lord Stanley's cup in June.

With another exciting hockey season about to begin, PinnacleSports.com has released updated odds on all 30 NHL teams winning the 2007 Stanley Cup.

The internet's largest sports betting site, PinnacleSports.com currently lists the Buffalo Sabres as the early favorite to win the NHL championship at 8/1 odds after their surprising run into the Eastern Conference finals last season.

Despite losing goaltender Dominik Hasek and defenseman Zdeno Chara in the offseason, the Jason Spezza-led Ottawa Senators have been installed with the second-best odds at 9/1.

Adding defenseman Chris Pronger to the backline with Scott Niedermayer, the Anaheim Ducks should be contenders for the cup again this year at 10/1, led by their pair of former Norris Trophy winners.

The chances the veteran Red Wings bring another title back to Hockeytown stands at 11/1, while the reigning Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes are surprisingly listed at odds of only 12/1 to repeat in 2007.

New coach Claude Julien should have the New Jersey Devils (12/1) primed to make another lengthy playoff run in 2007 with Martin Brodeur minding the net and the threesome of Elias, Langenbrunner and Gomez upfront.

Believing that Calgary will improve on their 27th-ranked offense from a year ago, PinnacleSports.com lists Miikka Kiprusoff, Jerome Iginla and the Flames at 14/1 to bring the Stanley Cup back to Canada for the first time since 1993.

Led by Hart Trophy and scoring title winner Joe Thornton, the San Jose Sharks (15/1) could be poised for a title run if the goaltending and defense improves.

Other teams that may emerge as Stanley Cup champions according to PinnacleSports.com include: the Nashville Predators with newly acquired Jason Arnott (16/1), the veteran-laden Dallas Stars (17/1), Jaromir Jagr's New York Rangers (18/1), the Peter Forsberg-led Philadelphia Flyers (20/1), and the retooled Vancouver Canucks (21/1).

"Bettors believe that the Sabres' run to the Eastern Conference finals was anything but a fluke and think the addition of Jaroslav Spacek should help shore up Buffalo on the defensive end," said Simon Noble of PinnacleSports.com.

"While Ottawa lost veteran keeper Dominik Hasek, they added Martin Gerber who was impressive in net for the Cup champion Hurricanes before getting the flu and losing his starting job in the playoffs," Noble said.

"Players wanting great value on a team heading into this season need look no further than the defending world champions, who at 12/1 return their core players include Conn Smythe winner, Cam Ward."

PinnacleSports.com offers the most comprehensive wagering options on each game throughout the entire NHL season, including first period wagering on money lines and totals; spreads, money lines and totals for regulation time only; and spreads, money lines and totals on full games including overtime or shootouts.
