OCAA delegates to converge on the Sault

Local Post-Secondary Institutions to Co-Host OCAA AGM

Algoma University College and Sault College will be co-hosting the 39th Annual Ontario College Athletic Association (OCAA) Annual General Meetings from Sunday, April 30 to Friday, May 5th at the Holiday Inn.

Approximately one hundred delegates made up of Athletic Directors, support staff and coaches from the thirty OCAA member institutions located throughout the province will participate in a series of meetings and plenary sessions to help prepare for the 2006-2007 school year.

Those present will discuss a wide range of issues and pertaining to student athletes and the institutions they represent including scheduling, sport rules, ethics, risk management and academic awards.

The local organizing committee has also made arrangements for delegates to partake in a wide range of athletic and social activities including golf, bocce, and hockey.

Tuesday May 2 will feature a “Marketplace” where more than 35 exhibitors will set up displays pertaining to Sport and Recreation supplies and services. This event will be held in the Holiday Inn ball room from 6pm-9pm and is a great opportunity to see the latest in fitness, sport and clothing products.

This is the first time this event has been in Sault Ste Marie.
