Wrestling returned to Sault Ste. Marie over the long weekend as Big Daddy T retained his heavyweight championship in a hard-fought battle with LaParka.

The Northern Ontario Wrestling Alliance (NOWA) hosted the card last Friday evening at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Northern Road.

The card began with a WWE-style Royal Rumble, which was won by Doink the Clown (pictured dumping CP Morgan over the top rope).

Doink would face "Sinfully Sexy" Brad Hexum later in the evening. The two fought what many in the audience felt was the most entertaining match of the card.

The dastardly Hexum triumphed after rubbing a lime in the clown's eyes.

The hometown advantage worked for local wrestling talent as Josh Bennett beat DC Wylde for NOWA's Hardcore title, a reunited Revelation won the Tag-Team titles, and Vinnie DaVinci triumphed over Fury with an impressive 360 splash.

NOWA's next card is scheduled for September 10th in Iron Bridge, Ontario.
