North Stars to face off against North Bay in semi-finals

North Stars Semi-Finals Dates Announced

The Sault Ste. Marie North Stars have advanced to round two of the Great North Midget League playoffs with a 3–0 series defeat of the New Liskeard Cubs. The North Stars play the 4th place North Bay Trappers in a pair of games this weekend at the John Rhodes Sports Complex. During the regular season the Stars defeated the Trappers 3 times with the forth game tied at 4-4.

The games this weekend are Saturday March 3 at 7:00pm and Sunday March 4 at 1:00pm. When the series shifts to North Bay the games will be played Saturday March 10 at 7:20pm and Sunday March 11 at 1:20pm, both games at the West Ferris Arena.

In other league action, the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves defeated the Rayside Balfour Sabrecats in 3 straight games and it took 4 games for the Valley East Cobras to defeat Kirkland Lake. With the wins the other semi-final series is another Sudbury cross-town affair with the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves taking on the Valley East Cobras.
