At the Telus Cup national midget hockey championships in Red Deer, Alberta, the North Stars fell 4-1 to defending Telus Cup champion Prince Albert to close out the round robin.

Finishing at 0-5, the North Stars failed to qualify for Saturday's semi-finals.

Kevin Closs scored the lone goal for the locals while Jerry Petingalo was named the game star. Goaltender Thomas Gravelines was solid despite taking the loss.
