North Stars romp Majors for weekend sweep

The North Stars defeated the Timmins Majors this afternoon at the Rhodes Arena by a score of 12 - 3.

Scoring for the North Stars were:

1. Kurtis Travaglini from Christopher Buonomo at 13:23 of the first period. 2. Luke O'Brien from Zac LaRue and Alex Cruise at 12:45 of the first period. 3. Tyler Evoy from Bronson Kovacs and Alex Cruise at 12:22 of the first period. 4. Nicholas Romano from Tyler Evoy and Gregory Sartoretto at 7:03 of the first period. 5. Tanner Rutland from Tyler Evoy and David Quesnele at 13:54 of the second period. 6. David Quesnele from Tanner Rutland and Bronson Kovacs at 11:52 of the second period. 7. David Quesnele from Tanner Rutland at 11:44 of the second period. 8. Alex Cruise from Zac LaRue at 7:48 of the second period. 9. Gregory Sartoretto from Nicholas Romano at 6:28 of the second on the power play. 10. Luke O'Brien from Michael Schug and Bronson Kovacs at 5:19 of the second period. 11. Next action for the North Stars is next weekend on the road when they play Saturday in North Bay against the Trappers and then Sunday afternoon in Chelmsford when they play the Sudbury Nickel City Sons.

Next home action is Saturday and Sunday February 9th and 10th against the Sudbury Nickel Capitol Wolves for a show down for first place.

The final weekend of the season will prove to be a dandy with the Wolves battling it out with the North Stars for first place standing in the Great North Midget League.
