North Stars roll past Sabrecats

The Soo North Stars picked up another win on Saturday night in Great North Midget League action. At the John Rhodes Community Centre, eight different players scored for the North Stars in a 9-3 win over the Rayside Balfour Sabrecats.

The Soo North Stars picked up another win on Saturday night in Great North Midget League action.

At the John Rhodes Community Centre, eight different players scored for the North Stars in a 9-3 win over the Rayside Balfour Sabrecats.

Brett Thompson scored a pair of goals while singles went to Matt Amadio, Micky Sartoretto, Anthony Colizza, Jerry Petingalo, Mike Rivard, Drew MacMillan and Kurtis Travaglini.

Josh Cerasuolo, Colizza and Kevin Closs recorded two assists each while Travaglini, Thompson, Amadio, MacMillan and Rivard set up one goal each.

The North Stars, who entered the weekend with a 17-0-0-1 record and coming off 6-2 and 4-2 wins on the road in Timmins last week, are back in action on Sunday at the Rhodes against Sudbury at 1 p.m.
