North Stars hand Sudbury their first loss

The Soo North Stars played a very defensive game Sunday at the Rhodes Arena and defeated the previously undefeated Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves by a score of 5-2.

With two more match-ups on home ice the for the North Stars against the Wolves, the race for first place in the Great North Midget League just got a little more exciting with the win.

Scoring for the Stars were:

1. Brad Pascall (Affiliated player) from Kurtis Travaglini at 12:39 of the first period. 2. Brad Pascall from Kurtis Travaglini and David Quesnele at 18:37 of the second period. 3. Nicholas Romano from Luke O'Brien and Christopher Buonomo at 11:15 of the second period on the power play. 4. Kurtis Travaglini from Tyler Evoy and Bronson Kovacs at 2:17 of the second period on the power play. 5. Nicholas Romano from Gregory Sartoretto and Christopher Buonomo at 4:54 of the third period. Next action for the North Stars is next weekend at home with a pair of games against the Timmins Majors. Games times are Saturday at 6:30pm and Sunday at 2:00pm both at the John Rhodes Arena.

Scoring for the North Stars were:
