North Stars earn date with Sudbury in GNML finals

The Soo North Stars won game three of the best of five series here in Timmins tonight by a score of 4 - 3.

Scoring for the North Stars were:

1. Kurtis Travaglini from Michael Schug and David Quesnele at 14:15 of the first period. 2. Bronson Kovacs from Zac LaRue and Christopher Buonomo at 11:16 of the second on the power play. 3. Michael Schug from Zac LaRue and Luke O'Brien at 5:46 of the second period. 4. Luke O'Brien from Zac LaRue and Christopher Buonomo at 2:16 of the third period. Remo Febbraro was in goal for the North Stars Scoring for Timmins were:

1. Tyler McGee from Eric Allarie and Aaron Martyn at 2:54 of the second period on the power play. 2. Byron Katapaytuk from Ryan Ouellet and Justin Lafleur at 1:40 of the second period on the power play. 3. Ryan Wildman from Michael Fink and Eric Allaire at 4:00 of the third period. Around the league, the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves defeated the North Bay Trappers in North Bay tonight by a score of 7 - 4 to eliminate the Trappers three games to none. That now sets up the Great North Midget League Final starting in Sudbury next weekend with a pair of games; Saturday March 15 at 7:20 and Sunday March 16 at 2:50pm, both at the Countryside Arena.
