Leading 4-2 heading into the third period, the North Stars dominated the third period and scored an 8-2 win over the Sudbury Lockerby Nickel Capitals in GNML play at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

In the period, the North Stars peppered the Sudbury net with 27 shots while allowing only three shots on netminder Michael Maulucci. For the game, the North Stars outshot Sudbury 54-14.

Matt Dias led the North Stars attack with three goals and an assist, Michael D'Agostini scored twice while Zac Torquato and Matt Caria scored a goal and added three assists each. Adam Kauppi contributed a goal and an assist while Paul Dupont added two assists.

The North Stars third consecutive victory improves their GNML record to 20-1-0-2 for 42 points and a 15 point lead over second place Timmins.

The Soo will hit the road this coming weekend for a pair of games against the fourth place Rayside Balfour Jr. Sabrecats on Saturday and Sunday.
