The Soo North Stars are going for a regional title and the right to advance to the national championships on Sunday afternoon in Waterloo.

On Saturday at the Telus Cup Central Regional Championships, the North Stars took care of the previously unbeaten London Jr. Knights in the semi-final by a 4-1 score.

The North Stars will now meet the Richmond Hill Stars, who defeated the Toronto Jr. Canadiens in the other semi-final, in the gold medal game at 1 p.m.

Thomas Gravelines played a very solid semi-final game in goal for the North Stars and was named the game star.

Mike Rivard scored once and assisted on another to pace the offense with single goals going to Luke O'Brien, Anthony Colizza and Brett Thompson.
