The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League championship series will open with game one on Saturday night at the Big Bear Arena at 7 p.m. in the Michigan Sault.

Thanks to a 5-3 win over the pesky North Bay Skyhawks on Thursday night in game seven of their semi-final series, the regular season champion Soo Indians earned a date in the best-of-seven final against the defending champion Sudbury Junior Wolves.

Sudbury eliminated the Soo Thunderbirds in five games in the other semi-final series.

Game two of the final is scheduled for Sunday night in Sudbury.

The winner of the NOJHL championship will join the host Abitibi Eskimos as the league representatives at the Dudley Hewitt Cup, symbolic of the Central Canada Junior A Championship.
