NOJHL contests to be broadcast over the Internet

Fans of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, in particular the Blind River Beavers, will be able to listen to the live broadcast of 10 regular-season games beginning on Fri. Nov. 18 on Sportsjuice.com. With Ken Hilderley doing the play-by-play and Randy Russon providing colour commentary, 10 of Blind River's regular-season games will be broadcast, including five against the Soo Thunderbirds and three more with the Northern Michigan Black Bears providing the opposition. Sportsjuice.com, a broadcast internet company based in New Jersey, presently carries hundreds of games per year featuring U.S. College, U.S. Junior, Canadian Junior, and minor-pro teams. The idea to broadcast the Blind River games on Sportsjuice.com came from Beavers' head coach Jim Capy. "Jim is always looking for ways to promote his players, his team and the league in general and he's the one who made me aware of Sportsjuice.com," said Russon. "Once I checked it out and got some sponsors on board, I asked Ken if he'd like to do the play-by-play and he was all for it." Capy said the broadcast of the 10 Beaver games "goes a long way towards giving the Blind River Beavers more of a higher profile. Hopefully this is just the start of bigger things to come, not only for our team but for the NOJHL."
