OPP NEWS RELEASE
NORTH BAY DETACHMENT
************************* The Enforcers set to take on the NHL alumni Saturday night
The Ontario Provincial Police along with North Bay Police Service are sharpening up their skates for the annual NHL Alumni Hockey game, set to go Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Memorial Gardens [in North Bay].
The puck drops at 7 p.m. and tickets to the game are available at the door.
The Enforcers lineup sees officers from North Bay, Temiskaming, Cochrane, Kirkland Lake, South Porcupine, and as far north as White River Detachment.
They come from far and wide for the opportunity to suit up and show off their hidden talents with the hockey greats of days gone by.
Proceeds from the hockey game go to Special Olympics, and North Bay’s own special Olympian Jordan Hamelin will be at center ice for the official puck drop.
The OPP piper and color party will pipe in the officials and dignitaries to center ice, where we’ll remove our caps and join Ms. Julia Millar in the singing our national anthem.
This is North East Region’s fifth annual hockey game, and we’ve raised over $17,000 dollars in support of Law Enforcement Torch Run and Special Olympics.
Make sure your Saturday night plans include the hockey game with family and friends, see you at the game!
