NEWS RELEASE

******************** Searchmont, ON ~ During the Provincial BoarderCross Championship races held in Collingwood Southern Ontario last weekend, Myrica Hinich from Searchmont placed second in the women's senior category, after coming in 1st in the single qualification out of nine participants.

Hinich says: "I feel great about this race. I worked hard this season so far and now I don't have to feel guilty anymore about so many people back home supporting me. I did it."

Myrica Hinich grew up in Searchmont and is a self-taught snowboarder.

"The experience on and access I had to Searchmont Mountain terrain plus hard work and determination got me this far and with the support the community is showing I am sure I can get to the next level."

Hinich is the only member from Northern Ontario on the Boardercross Provincial Team.

She had placed 15th in the NorAm races at Mt. Tremblant Quebec earlier during the season, did not qualify for the FIS race at Big White due to a fall during qualification, and placed first in Caledon on February 24.

On March 19 the provincial team heads to Calgary to partake in the Nationals at Sunshine Valley, Alberta during March 19-25, then Mt. Cypress in Vancouver during March 25 - April 3. “ Hinich's sponsors include FuzedNotions Graphic Designs, Art Osborne & Associates, and Algoma's Watertower Inn.

She is actively looking for sponsors to help her pursue her goal to further succeed as a competitive snowboarder this season as well as the 2007/ 2008 season.
