AUC ATHLETIC BANQUET AWARD WINNERS 2005/06

On April 7, 2006 the fifth annual Algoma University Athletics Banquet was held at Algoma University College.

Jennifer Muio, a first year student at Algoma was named the Female Student-Athlete of the Year. She was starting point guard for the Thunderbird women's basketball team and their top 3 point shooter. She is also an honours student who volunteers readily for any Varsity event.

The Male Student-Athlete of the Year is Adam Carpenter a third year Thunderbird basketball forward who is the team's 3rd top 2 point range scorer and 4th over all. He also is a honours academic who has volunteered many hours for University events.

Another highlight of the evening was the honouring of Algoma's first ever fourth year player. Jason Trinier of Timmins, Ontario who will be graduating this year, was a team leader and top scorer for the Thunderbird basketball team over his entire varsity career. His impressive stats over this period include: 48 games played, 683 total points scored and an average of 14.23 points per game.
