At the Ontario Baseball Association Mosquito A championships in Aurora on Friday, the Sports Gold Black Sox doubled up the Brantford Red Sox 20-10 in a slugfest.

Brock Barry took the win on the mound and also contributed three singles offensively in a game played under the lights.

In total, the Black Sox offense produced 16 hits including a double and three singles from Liam Stevens, three singles from Coty Anderson and a double and a single from Cody Yardanoff.

The Black Sox are in action this morning against North London before beginning the next round at 1 p.m.

*** BANTAM A CHAMPIONSHIPS:

Being held locally at Sinclair Yards, the Soo 341 Elks Black Sox opened the OBA Bantam A championships on Friday with 21-9 loss to the Thunder Bay Mountain Jacks in five innings.

Thunder Bay took control by scoring 15 runs in their half of the fourth inning.

In another game, Aurora defeated Waterloo 8-6.

The Black Sox are back in action with two games Saturday beginning with a match up against Aurora at 12:30 p.m. followed by a contest with Waterloo at 6:30 p.m.

On Sunday, the semi-finals are scheduled for 10 a.m. and the championship game at 1 p.m.
