Montreal Canadiens Alumni to play locals

COMMUNITY FIRST SOO PEE WEE ARENA

There will be no shortage of star power in the lineup when the Montreal Canadiens Alumni team visit the Community First Soo Pee Wee Arena on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.

The Canadiens Alumni tour submitted the list of players scheduled to take the ice that night, which is headlined by 50-goal-scorer Stephane Richer. The team will be coached by Hall of Famer Steve Shutt.

The event will celebrate the Community First Soo Pee Wee Arena’s 50th Anniversary.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome the Montreal Canadiens Alumni team to Sault Ste. Marie,” says Arena Manager Chad Bouchard. “It is a unique opportunity to bring to the community together and we know that local hockey fans will really enjoy it.”

The Montreal Canadiens Alumni will face off against the Soo Pee Wee All Stars: Remi Gentes, Richard Bishop, Moe Bezione, Matt Walker, Jamie Henderson, Andre Levesque, Nathan Inch, John Mertha, Bill Cauduro, Jeremy Paquin, Michael McMillan, Keith Neveaux, Manny Reinholtz, Marc Sageoli, Wade Varcoe, Richard Metcalfe and Steve Quesnele.

General Admission tickets are $15 each and VIP Admission tickets, which include two beverages, food from Centre Ice Bar, and a meet and greet with the players, are $100 each.

The Community First Soo Pee Wee Arena is a community rink in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Our arena features a total spectator capacity of 1000, as well as ample parking, an onsite pro shop, sharpening service, concessions, and a full service restaurant overlooking the rink.

The Community First Soo Pee Wee Arena is a non-profit facility which has been providing wholesome, community oriented sports and recreation for forty-five years.

It is home to the Soo Pee Wee Hockey League which has grown over the years from 35 boys to over 950 boys and girls. Additional activities include men's and women's recreational hockey, figure skating, power skating, adult and youth hockey tournaments and the annual spring Midway.
