In Kitchener, OHL scoring champion Justin Azevedo had a goal and four assists to pace the Rangers to a 7-3 win over the Plymouth Whalers in the OHL playoffs on Monday.

The win gives Kitchener a 3-0 lead in the series and the opportunity to sweep through the first round with a win in Game 4 on Wednesday in Plymouth.

Matt Halischuk scored two goals while Mike Duco, Mike Mascioli, Nazem Kadri and Mikkel Boedker also counted for the Rangers. Nick Spaling chipped in with three assists and Josh Unice made 20 saves in his first start of the series.

Chris Terry scored twice for the Whalers while Joe McCann also scored and Andrew Fournier and Michal Jordan each chipped in with a pair of assists. Jeremy Smith made 25 saves in the loss.

Belleville Bulls 3, Peterborough Petes 2 (OT)

In Peterborough, P.K. Subban's shot from the point 6:24 into overtime gave the Belleville Bulls a 3-2 win over the Petes. The Bulls lead the series 3-1 and host Game 5 on Tuesday.

Jan Mursak opened the scoring on a first period powerplay and Nigel Williams scored a shorthanded goal in the second.

Captain Matt Beleskey had two assists while Mike Murphy made 32 saves in the win.

Zach Harnden scored early in the second period and Justin Soryal sent the game to overtime when he scored his second goal of the series with 32 seconds left in regulation time.

Pat Daley had two assists for the Petes while Trevor Cann stopped 45 shots in the loss.
