Hot Streak continues for local 16-year-old golfer Mike Caputo (Crimson Ridge)

Garson, Ontario – (July 4, 2007) A Northern Ontario Junior Competition was held at the Cedar Green Golf Course hosting the Food Basics Open.

Caputo fired the tournament’s low overall score of 74 capturing the 19 and under title along with the 14-16 year old title.

In the 17-19 year old division, 18-year old Brandon Schmidt (Sault Ste. Marie Country Club) tied for first place with a 75 with Sudbury’s Brennan Doyle. Doyle won in the playoff.

Lively, Ontario (July 5, 2007) Lively Golf and Country Club held the annual John Hause Memorial Tournament this past week.

It was a tight race for the tournament’s overall (19 and under) title. There was a three way tie with a score of 74. The tie was between Dexton Abresch (Sudbury), Chris Graham of Sudbury, and local Mike Caputo (Crimson Ridge).

A playoff was held between the three players and a birdie was enough for Mike Caputo to walk away with the title on the first hole.

Caputo has won his last 3 events in the past 8 days including the Northern Ontario junior Championship title, with a tournament scoring average of just under 75 strokes a round.
