Midget Cougars claim silver in Cambridge

The Sault Junior Cougars Major Midget Boys Basketball team won the silver medal at the Cambridge Centaurs Tournament over the weekend. In the gold medal game, the Cougars suffered a tough 48-44 overtime loss to the Guelph Oaks #2 squad.

In the gold medal game, the Cougars suffered a tough 48-44 overtime loss to the Guelph Oaks #2 squad. Deno Bergamin drained 13 points for the Cougars while Taylor Hiddleston added nine.

The Cougars opened the tournament with a pair of wins as Chris Hunt dropped 18 points and Josh Findlay, who was a perfect four-for-four from beyond the three-point line, added 16 in a 70-24 rout of the Guelph Oaks #3 team.

The Cougars then nipped Mississauga's St. Mary's 42-41. Hiddleston and Bergamin scored nine points each while Hunt added seven.
