McDougall Fuels leave Oakville with silver

Sault Female Hockey’s McDougall Fuels won the silver medal in the intermediate division at the Oakville Hornets Girls Hockey Association House League Tournament held in Oakville February 23 – 25.

Erica Aceti and Brianna Myers each had two goals in the first game against the Ancaster Avalanche. Singles were scored by Amanda Giunti and Mikaela Scornaienchi, with Tamarah Tyczinski recording the shut-out (6-0). Brianna Myers received the MVP.

Brianna Myers scored again in the second game against the Mississauga Rattlers, as did Katie Litalien, with Tyczinski recording another shut-out (2-0) and receiving the MVP.

In the third round robin game against Oakville ALC Automotive, Erica Aceti and Tiffany Stocco each scored, and Tyczinski again allowed no goals (2-0). Katie Litalien was MVP.

The McDougall Fuels team tied with two others for first place points after the round robin, and achieved first place position by receiving the least penalties. They met Sudbury’s Raymond Assurance in the championship game which was won by Sudbury 2-0. McDougall Fuels MVP in the championship game was Shannon Decker.

Team members include: Erica Aceti, Shannon Decker, Amanda Giunti, Jamie Kirk, Katie Litalien, Alyssa Mason, Jessica Masters, Krista McClelland, Brianna Myers, Alisha Pigeau, Mikaela Scornaienchi, Tiffany Stocco, and Tamarah Tyczinski. The team is coached by Randy Kirk, assisted by Terry McClelland.
