Jordan Mayer spoke to the Kingston Whig-Standard about his decision not to report to the Soo Greyhounds for the 2007-08 Ontario Hockey League season.
The Greyhounds made Mayer an OHL first round draft pick with the 13th pick at the Priority Selection in May.
About to enter grade 11, Mayer wishes to focus on hockey and education at home while leaving the door open for a future in the Soo.
