Matt Amadio, a left winger with the Soo North Stars, was taken by the Toronto St. Michael's Majors in the Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection draft on Saturday.

The Majors scooped up the 5-foot-8, 150 pounder with the third pick in the 10th round at 183rd overall.

Amadio became the fourth Sault Ste. Marie product taken at the draft behind Brett Thompson, Micky Sartoretto and Anthony Colizza.

In the Great North Midget League regular season, Amadio was fourth on the team in scoring with 19 goals and 31 assists for 50 points. In the playoffs, Amadio added four goals and two assists in nine games.

During the North Stars run to a gold medal at the Telus Cup Regional Hockey Championships, the grinding winger potted two goals and set up four others in six games.
