*** ATOM AA REPS WIN BIG:

Cambrian Nissan/National Supply opened the 2006-07 NIHL regular season with a convincing 8-1 win over Soo Michigan at the Taffy Abel Arena Saturday afternoon.

Nicholas Trecroce and Cody Poirier led the attack with two goals each, with single markers going to Kye Heimonen, Anthony Stefano, Jaron Rowe and Alex Kaldma. A relentless attack by the forwards was aided by the smothering defence played by the defenseman, particularly, Jeffrey Auger. Braedan Turco posted the win in net.

Sunday afternoon at the Rhodes was the site of the rematch, with the game starting off a little slow for the home team. Cambrian Nissan/National Supply broke open an early 2-2 game by scoring 9 of the game's final 10 goals enroute to an 11-3 triumph.

Jaron Rowe and Anthony Stefano paced the attack with 3 goals apiece, Blake Speers and Alex Kaldma chipped in with a pair each and Kye Heimonen completed the scoring. While noting there was still plenty of work to be done, Coach Paul Amadio was pleased with the team's effort in its first two games of the season.
