Nicholas Lesyshen Jr. aced the 127 yard par three eighth hole in the Men's Lock City golf tournament two weekends ago at the Sault Michigan Country Club.

Lesyshen almost repeated the feat the next day by coming just four inches away from the cup on the same hole.

*** ATTENTION SOO INDIANS ALUMNI: The Carmen Provenzano Memorial Cup Golf Tournament will be held on Sat. July 29 at Maplewood Golf Course. It will be a four-person-per-team, best ball event. Entry fee is $100 per player ($400 per team) which includes a lasagna/chicken dinner, refreshments and ticket on the door prize. Proceeds will go to the Soo Indians and Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League.

The tournament is open to men's, women's and mixed teams. To register, call 759-1599. Of note, anyone who once played with any of the former Soo Indians junior hockey teams who signs up for the Provenzano Golf Tournament, will receive free season tickets to '06-07 games of the new NOJHL Indians.
