Local figure skaters fit right in at provincial championships

'I’m very proud of all our skaters’ accomplishments this weekend', LSFSC head coach says

Seven Lake Superior Figure Skating Club figure skaters competed at the Skate Ontario Provincial Championships this past weekend in Brampton.

The 2024 Skate Ontario Provincial Championships brought together the top athletes competing in STAR 5-10, Gold, Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Pre-Novice and Novice in Singles, Pair, Ice Dance and Artistic categories.

The local skaters’ results were as follows:

  • Emily Arbour 21st Star 5 O13 Free Skate
  • Elena Nelson 11th Star 7 Artistic
  • Kali Montgomery 15th Star 5 O13 Free Skate, 5th Star 7 Artistic
  • Addyson Atkinson 18th Star 6 Free Skate, 4th Star 7 Artistic
  • Evie-Marie Beach 7th Star 10 Free Skate
  • Delaney Schumacher 18th Star 9 O14 Short Program & 5th Gold Free Skate
  • Yvonne Barnes 4th Novice Free Skate

“Qualifying for the Skate Ontario Provincial Championships is a significant achievement," Kerry Bain, LSFSC head coach and director of skating said in a release. 

"I’m very proud of all our skaters’ accomplishments this weekend. Everyone skated their best and were excellent ambassadors for the Club. Some skaters qualified for two events which is also impressive."
