Local coach to be inducted in hall of fame

SAULT STE. MARIE SPORTS HALL OF FAME

************************* Sault Ste. Marie Sports Hall of Fame inductees

The seventh annual Sault Ste. Marie Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place in the Russ Ramsay Room of the Civic Center on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 7 p.m.

Community admission to this event is by invitation only.

The following coach/builder will be inducted into this year’s sports hall of fame:

Coach/Builder: Tom Coulterman

Sport: curling

Accomplishments

- 1996 to 2008 - National coach/team leader for the Canadian Junior Men’s Curling Team at the World Junior Curling Championship. Won eight gold and two bronze medals.

- 2006 and 2007 - Coach of the Ontario Women’s Curling Champions. Represented Ontario at the Scott Tournament of Hearts.

- 1995 - Coach of the Ontario Bantam Women’s Curling Champions. Silver Medal winners at the 1992 Canadian Junior Curling Champions

- 1980 - Coach of the O.F.S.S.A. Women’s Curling Champions.

- 1974 to 1999 - Coach of numerous City and N.O.S.S.A. curling championship teams.

- Provincial course conductor/facilitator for Curl Ontario for over 30 years.

- Facilitator/coach at high performance and junior curling team training camps across Canada and Europe.
