Olympic curling champs share skills with Notre-Dame-du-Sault students

On Friday, Oct. 21, the Brad Jacobs Curling Team from Sault Ste. Marie offered a hands-on training session to École secondaire Notre-Dame-du-Sault (Sault-Ste-Marie) students.

Offered by the Soo Curling Club through the “Learn-to-Curl” program, this initiative sought to motivate students to become involved in this sport and help them acquire the basic curling skills.

Notre-du-Sault high school students were excited to learn the skills of curling from local heroes who have dominated the sport of curling in Canada and elsewhere.

The Brad Jacobs Team won the gold medal at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Russia. These well-known local athletes have become a great source of inspiration for students and local citizens. Since their Olympic victory, the sport of curling benefits from much visibility in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSCNO provides a quality academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
