It was a good night for Late Model drivers Donnie Varcoe and Cory Furkey at Laird International Raceway.

The two drivers split all the first place finishes in the division on Thursday night, with Furkey taking home top spot in the feature race.

Furkey beat out Varcoe and Jeremy Van Hoek to take the win. Points leader Michael Gold finished fourth while Rod Bolduc rounded out the top five. Furkey topped Jerry Artuso, Van Hoek, and Bolduc in the fast car dash.

Varcoe won both heat races. Varcoe beat out Artuso and Gold in the first heat before holding off Rick Leonard and Furkey in the second heat.

In the Factory Stock Division, the feature race was shortened to 10 laps due to a field of just four cars taking part. John Hamilton beat out Dick Wellwood and Chris Jones for the win with Mike Corbett finishing fourth. Hamilton swept the heat races, in both case seeing Jones finish second and Wellwood in third.

In the Modified Division, Dennis Uhlman cruised to the victory in the 40-lap feature that saw the winner take home $600. Uhlman beat out Dave Slingsby and Nick Jobst for the win. Rick Ellis and Jordan Sims rounded out the top five. Rick Ellis beat out Slingsby and Mav McDonald in the first heat while Sims beat out Jobst and Ellis in the second heat.

The Stock Four Division saw another big field and Adam Gardener won the feature race with Cody McLean finishing in second and Brandon Penno in third. Tyler Parsons won a pair of heat races while Penno won the other two as the field was separated into fast and slow heats.

Next Thursday will mark the second-last race night of the season and will feature a $1,000 Late Model feature along with a $200 Stock Four feature. The following Saturday will mark the final race night of the 2006 season.

Qualifying for the Saturday races kicks off at 3 p.m. with racing at 4 p.m. and a demolition derby to follow. Thursday's action starts with qualifying at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.
