The racing season is quickly coming to a close at Laird International Raceway. Thursday night marked the second last racing date of the season as a full program hit the track.

As always, the Late Model Division kicked off the racing program with the Fast Car Dash featuring Rod Bolduc, Chris and Cory Furkey and George Wilson, who was again driving the No. 4 car of Kinross Speedway's Nick Guerriero. Bolduc held off the field and beat out second-place Cory Furkey for the win.

In the Late Model heat races, Rick Leonard and Cory Furkey each won a heat races. Bolduc had a second place finish as well as a third in the heats while Wilson, the divisions points leader finished sixth in the first heat before jumping to second in the second heat.

Wilson continued his dominance in the division by winning the feature race by beating out Bolduc and Leonard. Chris Furkey and David Slingsby finished fourth and fifth respectively.

In the Modified Division it was a clean sweep as Mav MacDonald had his No. 86 Modified tuned in and won both heat races and then proceeded to come out victorious in the feature.

Fifteen year-old Jordan Sims had a trio of second place finishes on the night while Len Bibeau finished third in all three races as well.

The Factory Stock Division got a surprise boost as Late Model driver David Slingsby brought his No. 14 Factory Stock, the same car he drove to the division's points title last season, to the track and looked as though he had never left the division.

During the first heat race, with Slingsby and Kent battling for top spot, Kent was forced to pull his car off the track for the night. Slingsby won the heat and proceeded to finish third in the second heat and second in the feature. Chuck Fawcett finished in top spot in both races.

In the Stock Four Division it was a good night for Gord Hunt as he rode his way to a heat race victory as well as a victory in the feature. Jeff Thomas won the other heat race. Mike Hearty finished second in the feature while Chad McCauley, Tyler Parsons and Thomas rounded out the top five finishers in the feature.

LIR wraps up their racing season on Sunday afternoon with a full program as well as a demolition derby to cap off the season. Action kicks off with qualifying at 2 p.m. while racing is set for 3 p.m.

The demo derby will be held immediately following the final feature race.
